Law enforcers explain detention of Muslims in Astrakhan by search for criminals
Law enforcers have let the Muslims detained near the Red Mosque go home. The police have stated that these were actions aimed at searching for people hiding from investigators and the court. Muslims were offended that such checks are carried out in mosques during the Friday prayer (namaz).

Operation of Sotk Mine suspended

Sources report blood feud murder in Ingushetia

UNESCO announces terms for sending mission to Nagorno-Karabakh
In the coming months, UNESCO cultural heritage specialists will be sent to Nagorno-Karabakh to compile a list of the most important cultural sites. The mission will be carried out with the support of the Minsk Group and OSCE, UNESCO reports today.

France accepts Azerbaijan's claims on Nagorno-Karabakh's status
On November 26, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) handed a note of protest to the French Ambassador in connection with the French Senate's resolution on the need to recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh.
