Movlaev's account of his conversation with the prosecutor caused a resonance online.

According to Mansur Movlaev, the prosecutor who visited him stated that extradition from Kazakhstan is inevitable and that the native of Chechnya could become a martyr. Social media users, commenting on this story, criticized the authorities of Kazakhstan and demanded that Movlaev not be handed over to Russian security forces.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on September 15, the native of Chechnya, Mansur Movlaev, held in a Kazakhstani pre-trial detention center, attempted suicide. Already in the hospital, he attempted suicide again.

On September 20, Mansur Movlaev's account of his conversation with the Kazakh prosecutor was published by the Instagram*-public of the support group for Movlaev, free_mansour_movlaev.

According to Movlaev, a person who introduced himself as the prosecutor of the Committee of the Criminal Executive System (CES) of Kazakhstan came to him. He urged Movlaev not to harm himself anymore, saying that it is useless since he "will be taken anyway," and that due to new attempts, the staff of the institution might suffer – they could be fired.

"Don't do that, don't harm your health. They will take you anyway, it won't help you. And because of you, our staff might suffer – they could be fired, as they have families to feed. I understand what is happening there. But you could become a martyr. This is your trial. Don't impose this on us. We can't help you here, no matter how much we want to," Movlaev quoted the prosecutor's words.

Movlaev stated that he does not want to go through torture, humiliation, and fear again, which he claims he has already experienced. He questioned why state representatives say they cannot help him if it is the authorities of Kazakhstan who decide on his extradition, and asked Kazakhstan to comply with the existing temporary measures of the UN Human Rights Committee and not to send him to Russia, where, according to him, he is in danger.

The post with Movlaev's account on the Instagram*-public of his support group free_mansour_movlaev has about 4,200 followers. As of 08:45 MSK on September 22, this post received 490 likes and 121 comments.

Commentators condemned the prosecutor's words as recounted by Movlaev. "Can you become a martyr and go to heaven, or what? Is that what this prosecutor meant? A weak consolation, of course," wrote kair_kym.

"They need to feed their children. Mansur doesn't need to live, his life is worth nothing? For them, this is also a trial. Let them go through it with dignity; they definitely won't become martyrs," noted user alania_my_love.

"What kind of prosecutor is this... [vividly expressive phrase]", remarked fatima_khussainova.

Other users supported Movlaev and wished him to avoid extradition. "Freedom for Mansur, he is not a killer, not a rapist, not a thief, not a fraudster. Why is he in prison? For asking for asylum?" questioned user myloveee.ee.

Some commentators urged the authorities of Kazakhstan not to allow Movlaev's extradition. "A person wants to live! He has the right to life! Or is the life of one person insignificant to you? Shame," emphasized dinakalacheva666.

"What injustice. Poor guy, my heart aches for him, how can we help him? Is there really no drop of humanity and compassion left for those who are planning to extradite him?" – expressed outrage rimma_mar_.

kari_akinci, tagging the pages of the administration of the President of Kazakhstan and the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan, wrote: "The words and attitude of certain employees towards a person who has gone through pain, torture, fear for his life and the safety of his family cause deep shock and shame. Such an attitude is unacceptable. Is there really no place for a guy <…> in our country? We categorically oppose the extradition of Mansur Movlaev. Hear the voice of the people! Show and prove in practice that the life, safety, and future of this person are indeed important to the state <…>".

As of 08:45 MSK on September 22, there are no comments on the website of the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan regarding Movlaev's account of the prosecutor's words after his suicide attempt.

Recall that on January 30, the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan decided to extradite Movlaev to Russian security forces, and the defense challenged this decision. On September 2, Movlaev asked the UN Secretary-General for support and urged the authorities of Kazakhstan to comply with the temporary measures of the UN Human Rights Committee.

On September 10, the Cassation Court for Administrative Cases of Kazakhstan confirmed the refusal to grant Movlaev asylum; however, the protective measures of the UN Committee prohibiting his extradition to Russia until the complaint is considered continued to be in effect.
