Caucasian scholars assess humanitarian consequences of Nagorno-Karabakh agreement

Two Azerbaijanis fined for riots in Kullar
Elmar Mekhtiev and Djeikhun Namazov, residents of Azerbaijan, have been released from criminal liability in the case of the riots in Kullar, but they must pay a 5000-rouble fine each. After mitigating the charges, Namazov and Mekhtiev have pleaded guilty and compensated the harm caused to victims, their advocate has explained.

Six night rioters detained in Yerevan

Truce prevents Azerbaijan from developing its military success
A ceasefire agreement did not allow the Azerbaijani army to establish control over all of Nagorno-Karabakh and gave the Armenian side the opportunity to retain part of the territories, Russian political analysts and military experts note. The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" welcomed the introduction of Russian peacekeepers into the Karabakh conflict zone, but called the UN intervention a condition for stabilization of the situation.

Court reduces compensation for Chechen resident's death in penal colony
In Grozny, a court obliged the Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN) to pay two million roubles of compensation to relatives of prisoner Sultan Israilov, who died after torture at the Chelyabinsk penitentiary colony No. 2.
