Terror act in the capital of North Ossetia: 11 killed, 30 injured

As a result of the terror act committed today in the centre of Vladikavkaz on the crossing of Vatutin and Kuibyshev Streets, 11 persons were killed and 30 injured.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already reported that on the fact of explosion that happened today at 2:30 p.m. a criminal case was initiated on three Article of the Criminal Code - "terrorism" (Article 205), "murder" (Article 105) and "illegal storage of fire-arms, explosives and ammunition".

The power of the explosive, which was blown up in a crowded place of Vladikavkaz, could make no more than 400 grams in trotyl equivalent.

As to the crime itself accomplished in a public-hazardous manner entailing plenty of casualties, the law enforcers agree that the explosion took place outside the vehicle. The eyewitnesses assert that at about 2:30 p.m. a minibus "Gazel", a No. 28 fixed-route taxi, drove up to the stop, and the explosion happened, when part of the passengers were leaving the bus, and the others were going to get in.

According to one of the assumptions of the inspectors, the executor of the terror act (a male or female suicide bomber) could be among those who were leaving the bus. Besides, there is an assumption that the explosive could be "camouflaged" as a box or a package, planted near the stop of fixed-route taxis.

Let's remind that children are among the casualties of today's explosion in Vladikavkaz.

Among the victims there are also people who were in another taxi, which followed for blown-up one. After the explosion, the second minibus got into a road accident.

According to decree of Taimuraz Mamsurov, head of North Ossetia, November 8 was announced a mourning day in the Republic for the victims of today's explosion.

According to the "Interfax", 39 persons were injured by the explosion. Among them, there are mainly young people aged from 15 to 20. Basically, they are students, who were returning from their studies at the university located near the place of the incident.
