The second candidate for the presidency of South Ossetia has been registered.

Zurab Kokoev, nominated by the political party "Unity", has been registered as a candidate for the presidency of South Ossetia.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 13, the Central Election Commission of South Ossetia completed the acceptance of documents for the registration of candidates for the early presidential elections scheduled for September 18. A total of five candidates submitted documents: the leader of the "Iry Farn" party, Khokh Chochiev, the leader of the "Unity" party, Zurab Kokoev, a candidate from the initiative group of citizens, Kazbek Kodoev, a nominee from the "Patriots of Alania" party, Murat Valiev, and the acting head of the republic, Marat Kambolov. The registration certificate was received by the acting head of South Ossetia, Marat Kambolov.

His candidacy was nominated by the political party "Unity". The Central Election Commission of South Ossetia, having reviewed the documents, decided to register Zurab Kokoev as a candidate for president — he became the second after Marat Kambolov.
