An illegal mining farm with 35 cryptocurrency mining devices has been discovered in the village of Maidan.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", since the beginning of the year, 52 illegal mining farms have been discovered in Dagestan, and 958 cryptocurrency mining devices have been seized.

In the village of Maidan in the Untsukul district of Dagestan, an illegal mining farm was identified, reported in Telegram by the director of the branch of PJSC "Rosseti North Caucasus" - Dagenergo Magomedshapi Shapieva.

According to him, during the inspection, 35 cryptocurrency mining devices were found, with a total power of about 123 kW. The equipment was connected to the power grid without a contract with the energy supply company and has been seized.

Recall that in December 2024, the head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov signed an appeal to the government of Russia requesting a ban on cryptocurrency mining in the republic due to the increasing load on the power grid. According to the cabinet's decree, from 2025 until March 15, 2031, a complete ban on mining has been introduced, including in Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, and Chechnya.
