The sand on Anapa's beaches has caused complaints from vacationers.

The mayor of Anapa reported on the removal of stones from the beaches of Anapa. A one-time cleanup cannot fix the situation when the entire shore is covered with sand with a high clay content, noted Telegram users.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", Anapa's beaches, after being replenished with new sand, have turned into a mixture of stones and clay, and officials' reports do not correspond to reality, noted Telegram users. According to commentators, significant costs were incurred to replenish Anapa's beaches after the oil spill, but the first storms washed away the sand, and the remaining sand on the shore has compacted. Another problem for Anapa's beaches after the storm has been the large amount of seaweed. A permit to operate has already been obtained from Rospotrebnadzor for 105 beaches in Anapa, while another four are undergoing examination.

The cleaning of an additional layer of new sand from a small amount of stones and debris has been completed. The waste from the sifting has been removed, the mayor of Anapa, Svetlana Maslova, reported on her Telegram channel on August 11.

This message received 41 comments in her Telegram channel, some of which concerned the condition of the beaches.

"How the Anapa administration loves to present the desired as the actual!! There are just a sea of stones in the new sand!!! There’s also a sea of clay, pieces of concrete, and construction debris, among other trash. And clay is probably 50% of this 'luxurious sand'!" noted V.

"Svetlana Borisovna, have you seen the cliff that has formed on the shore between the sea and the imported sand on the therapeutic beach right in the center? We couldn't get down to the sea with the kids, we were afraid of slipping and falling. Maybe "Resorts of Anapa" will level the shore?" asked Larisa A.

She also attached a photo of the shore, noting that it is impossible to get down to the sea without slipping.

A message from tourists who came to rest in Anapa was posted in his Telegram channel by blogger Yuri Ozarovsky.

"The new sand is really not it. Hard, where feet haven't walked, hard and prickly. It doesn't sink, it doesn't warm. In general, it's there, but there's no joy from it. Not the right coat. Fortunately, the dunes remain, and there's still a chance to enjoy the old fluffy white sand!" wrote Konstantin Nizhgorodsky.

In the 2026 season, there are nuances: "the new sand, which not everyone likes, and fewer tourists than in record years." But the main thing is that Anapa is welcoming guests again, and doing so with comfort and hospitality, believes blogger Andrey Makovozov.

"Yes, the new sand is something, clay and large stones are found, but we made figures out of clay, and put stones on the blanket when there was a strong wind," shared Anna in the comments to the post, who noted that she vacationed in Vityazevo.

The resort season in Anapa opened against a sharp contrast in the state of the coastline. Some beaches are open and deemed safe, while other areas are closed due to erosion, unstable ground, and environmental risks.
