The Dagestan Ministry of Energy denies fuel problems in the republic.

There is no shortage of motor fuel in Dagestan, and fuel prices are under control, according to the Dagestan Ministry of Energy and Tariffs.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," at the end of May, residents of Makhachkala complained that a significant portion of the city's gas stations were closed, forcing them to stand in line. Analysts attributed the suspension of service to ongoing efforts to improve gas station safety. Drivers in Makhachkala are not experiencing a fuel shortage, but call the price increase noticeable—both gasoline of all grades and gas have increased.

Dagestani officials responded to reports about problems in the republic's fuel market, stating that there is no shortage and that prices are under control.

"Currently, there is no shortage of motor fuel in the republic," reads a statement published on June 18 on the official Telegram channel of the Ministry of Energy and Tariffs of Dagestan.

The ministry added that it conducts "daily monitoring of the pricing situation" and sends information on fuel prices to the Russian Ministry of Energy. Authorities interact with fuel retailers through the Dagestan Fuel Association.

According to officials, monitoring helps prevent unjustified price increases. "If signs of collusion or price gouging are detected, the ministry will submit an appeal to the Federal Antimonopoly Service," the statement noted.
