Activist Natalia Kuzmina has been detained in Volgograd.

Law enforcement detained activist Natalia Kuzmina today in the building of the Volgograd Regional Court, who had previously suggested that local activists record a video address to the head of the Investigative Committee due to problems with gasoline.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 18, the Central District Court of Volgograd fined Tatyana Smetanko 10,000 rubles under the protocol for participating in an unauthorized mass event. She was detained on July 16 at a gas station where a group of drivers was trying to record an address to the head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin regarding the gasoline situation.

Natalia Kuzmina has been detained today in the building of the Volgograd Regional Court, reported Volgograd activist Sergey Ostrovsky. According to him, police officers took Kuzmina from the court, citing Article 20.2 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation regarding the violation of the established procedure for organizing or conducting a public event, reported "Volgograd Online".

Kuzmina came up with the idea of a video address to the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, regarding the gasoline situation in the city, the publication explained.

Activist Ivan Ivanov noted that the same protocol was applied to Kuzmina that law enforcement had drawn up on July 16. "This is not a rally, there were no slogans, loudspeakers, or demands. It was an appeal asking for an investigation. Not a demand, but a request, as was stated in the video initially. Meanwhile, complete chaos at gas stations in Volgograd continues," quoted today the Telegram channel "Caution, News" the words of Ivan Ivanov.

As of 14:10 Moscow time, there are no comments on the websites of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Volgograd Region and the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Volgograd Region regarding the information about the detention of Natalia Kuzmina.

Recall that on July 16, police detained five people at a gas station in Volgograd who were trying to record a video address to Alexander Bastrykin about the gasoline situation. Lawyer Alexey Sevastyanov was arrested by the court the next day for five days.

On July 25, Sevastyanov stated that the attempt to record the address led to an improvement in the fuel situation in the Volgograd region. Drivers surveyed by "Caucasian Knot" confirmed that there were almost no queues at gas stations.
