False documents for a person involved in the Crocus City attack led to the arrest of an Ingushetia resident.

Security forces detained Khasan Altemirov, a member of the militant wing of the Batalkhadzhin* vird. According to investigators, he provided forged documents to Batyr Kulaev, who then supplied weapons to the terrorists who attacked Crocus City Hall.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on the evening of March 22, 2024, armed men stormed the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, opened fire, and also set fire to the building. The FSB classified the incident as a terrorist attack. According to official figures as of March 30, 2024, 144 people were killed and 551 injured in the attack on Crocus City Hall. In November 2024, the Batalkhadzhin group's involvement in the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall near Moscow was revealed. Khusein Medov and Dzhabrail Aushev were arrested on charges of illegal arms and explosives trafficking. The court sentenced the perpetrators of the Crocus City Hall attack, which killed 144 people, to life in prison.

FSB officers for Ingushetia detained 54-year-old Khasan Altemirov, a member of the Batalkhadzhin militant group, designated a terrorist organization and banned by the Southern District Military Court on November 28, 2022. Investigators accuse him of complicity (in the form of aiding and abetting) in leading a terrorist organization (Part 5 of Article 33 and Part 1 of Article 205.4 of the Russian Criminal Code), Kommersant reported today.

According to security officials, in 2025, Altemirov, acting on orders from the group's leaders, provided at least three wanted Batalkhadzhin members with fake passports. Among them, the Investigative Committee specifically notes, is Batyr Kulayev, who, along with his accomplices, armed the terrorists involved in the attack on Crocus City Hall.

Using a passport obtained from Altemirov, Kulayev fled abroad and has yet to be captured.

According to criminal case materials, natives of Ingushetia—Khusen Medov, Dzhabrail Aushev, Khavazh-Bagaudin Aliyev, and Batyr Kulayev—obtained five blank-firing automatic rifles and then converted them into live ones. They also obtained 1,881 7.62mm rounds of ammunition. The barrels and ammunition were hidden in Ingushetia and then shipped to the capital region, the publication states.
