A student from Kabardino-Balkaria has had his Unified State Exam results reinstated.

A high school graduate from Kabardino-Balkaria defended his Unified State Physics Exam result in court, which had previously been annulled due to the alleged use of a cheat sheet.

The exam proceeded as normal—the student did not leave the classroom early and received no warnings from the organizers. However, after some time, a commission reviewed the video recording and concluded that the young man had a piece of paper. On this basis, the test results were invalidated.

The graduate himself categorically denied violating the rules: according to him, he was using a standard draft, not a pre-prepared cheat sheet, Kommersant reports.

The trial court reviewed the video and was unable to determine the presence of cheat sheets. Furthermore, the student was not held administratively liable under the article "On intentional distortion of exam results" due to the lack of evidence of an offense, RIA Novosti reports.

The regional Supreme Court sided with the plaintiff, finding the decision to annul the scores illegal. The court ruled that the test results must be confirmed and entered into the official database.

The Kabardino-Balkarian Ministry of Education attempted to appeal this decision to higher authorities. However, the appellate and cassation panels upheld the original verdict.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that parents complained about the denial of medical care to a Nalchik graduate during the Unified State Exam. She was not allowed to go to the medical center during the biology exam, even though the Ministry of Education commission allowed the girl free access to the medical center and restroom.
