Residents of Kabardino-Balkaria have joined the effort to raise funds for Dagestan.

Several foundations and organizations in Kabardino-Balkaria are collecting humanitarian aid for Dagestan. Residents are bringing water, food, clothing, and bedding. Residents of the affected areas have asked for building materials.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by April 7, about 150 tons of humanitarian aid had been sent from Kabardino-Balkaria to the flood-affected areas of Dagestan. The Muslim Administration called on residents of Kabardino-Balkaria to bring items and food to collection points for flood victims in Dagestan.

Humanitarian supplies from the village of Khasanya have already been dispatched to the disaster site. The supplies include drinking water, food, generators, and new clothing and bedding. Residents of the village and other settlements, as well as local social institutions and public organizations, participated in the collection. Deputies of the Nalchik branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation also announced a collection of humanitarian aid. They have already delivered drinking water to Dagestan.

The collection of humanitarian aid was announced by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kabardino-Balkaria. Collections are being made at all mosques in the republic. Collected items and food will be delivered to the Barakat Foundation. Today, April 11, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent visited the foundation. Foundation Director Beslan Beslaneev said that people are bringing clothing, food items—sugar, tea, coffee, flour, cereals—and also transferring money to the account.

"We haven't counted how much has been collected yet." "We will summarize the results next week, and then the cargo will be sent to Dagestan," Beslaneev said.

He also noted that the fund does not record the names of those providing assistance, nor does it inquire about their social status or even their religious affiliation; they include both Muslims and Christians.

"I am pleasantly surprised and proud that many residents of our republic responded to our neighbors' misfortune and are ready to help. What happened is a test not only for Dagestan, but also for us, its neighbors," said the head of "Barakat."

The humanitarian aid was delivered to the affected areas of Dagestan by the public organization "Committee of Families of Warriors of the Fatherland." Its head, Alla Alimova, said that the cargo was delivered in two Gazelle vehicles.

"We brought bottled water. There is an acute shortage of clean drinking water, food, including baby food, as well as bedding and shovels. All of this was brought by residents of the republic. However, many did not even introduce themselves and did not want us to write them down," said Alla Alimov.

According to her, the Committee is now collecting humanitarian aid again. This time, taking into account the wishes of residents of the affected areas, they will bring building materials to Dagestan - ash blocks, boards, nails, self-tapping screws.

As previously reported, in late March and early April, in some areas of Dagestan Heavy rains resulted in massive flooding. Six people died, dozens were injured, and hundreds were left homeless.
