Participants of the continuous protests in Tbilisi demanded change

Supporters of Georgia's Eurointegration held a protest in Tbilisi for the 645th consecutive day, demanding the country's return to a Euro-Atlantic course. Among the flags of Georgia, Ukraine, the European Union, and the USA, there was a flag of Abkhazia.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on September 2, on the 644th day of continuous protests, participants of the action demanded to allow Russian citizen Denis Kulanin to travel to a third country. Among the slogans were statements about the violent nature of the death of Abkhazian blogger Daur Buava.

Citizens demanding the release of political prisoners, the abolition of repressive mechanisms, and the holding of elections in a free and fair environment gathered on the 645th day in front of the Parliament building and the Tbilisi City Council, reports the publication Publika.

Participants of the action held flags of Georgia, the European Union, Ukraine, and the USA, as well as the flag of Abkhazia, on which citizens left memorial inscriptions. Some participants held placards: "Bidzina - the Russian era", "The end of this fairy tale must be good", "The regime kills, yesterday Daur, today it could be you", "Time for change!", "Freedom for Georgia", "For a free Georgia", according to the publication by photographer MO SE on Facebook*.

According to a video posted on Facebook* by user David Chkheidze, today more than 200 people gathered in front of the Parliament of Georgia on Rustaveli. The action was attended by people of different ages, and clergy also joined the protest.

The protest also took place today in Batumi. Citizens with flags and placards: "Freedom for political prisoners", "Antsukhelidze is immortal" and "Russia is an occupier" traditionally gathered in front of the Constitutional Court building, reports the publication Batumelebi.

Participants of the protests in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024. Security forces have conducted harsh dispersals of protests, using tear gas and water cannons, and detained protesters. During the protests, thousands of people have faced administrative prosecution.
