A confidant of former Kuban judge Chernov has been accused of fraud.

The criminal case against Vladislav Ovcharenko, who had long been involved in the schemes of former Chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov, to acquire valuable assets, has been referred to court. Ovcharenko has been charged with fraud.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," last August, following a lawsuit filed by the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, confiscated assets worth 13 billion rubles from former Chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov. On January 30, the cassation court approved the seizure of the property.

A criminal case against Vladislav Ovcharenko, a long-time confidant of the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov, has been referred to court, Kommersant reported on April 3.

According to investigators, Ovcharenko promised an acquaintance to transfer 1.2 million rubles to a judge of the Krasnodar Regional Court to mitigate the pretrial detention of a defendant in a criminal case. He failed to do so, and after the investigation was completed, the charges were reclassified as fraud, as it was discovered that the defendant had no intention of fulfilling his promise.

Regarding his relationship with Alexander Chernov, investigators believe Ovcharenko was involved in schemes to acquire valuable assets. Specifically, in 2010, they purchased Gorny Sad JSC through fictitious loan agreements, which allowed them to transfer 1,100 hectares of agricultural land to an acquaintance of Ovcharenko's. The prosecutor's office believes that the land is still not being used for its intended purpose.

Ovcharenko also helped resolve a property dispute between two entrepreneurs in 2011, for which he received a number of properties in Krasnodar.
