A North Ossetian soldier was killed in Ukraine.

Boris Osmanov from the Mozdok district died in the combat zone. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have officially recognized at least 581 combatants from North Ossetia as killed there.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by March 31, at least 580 fighters from North Ossetia had been recognized as killed in military operations in Ukraine.

On April 2, the funeral of Boris Osmanov, a participant in the military operation in Ukraine, was held in Mozdok, the Mozdok district administration reported on its Telegram channel.

Osmanov was 50 years old. Officials did not disclose the circumstances of his death.

Thus, North Ossetia's officially recognized losses on the Ukrainian front amount to at least 581 people. The Caucasian Knot is maintaining a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list is based on data officially released by government officials and law enforcement agencies, according to the Caucasian Knot report "North Caucasus Military District Statistics: Casualties Risen in Southern Russia."

On March 26, the Mozdok District Administration reported that 47-year-old Gennady Babiev was killed in the combat zone in Ukraine.

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on Channel One do not guarantee state support for the families of those killed, according to the "Caucasian Knot" article "Three Comrades Served: How the Authorities Are Denying Benefits to the Families of Killed Volunteers," which describes the stories of soldiers from other regions. In particular, the widow of one of the soldiers killed said that without a body, the battalion did not make payments for the soldier's death.
