In the Karabudakhkent district, energy workers discovered an illegal mining farm with 18 devices for cryptocurrency mining.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", since the beginning of the year, 52 illegal mining farms have been discovered in Dagestan, and 958 devices for cryptocurrency mining have been seized.

An illegal mining farm with 18 devices for cryptocurrency mining was found in the Karabudakhkent district of Dagestan, reported on September 3 by "Kommersant" citing PJSC "Rosseti North Caucasus - Dagenergo".

The power of the equipment, which was connected to the power grid without a contract with the energy supply organization, amounted to approximately 63 kW in total - 3.5 kW per unit. The found equipment has been seized.

Recall that in December 2024, the head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov signed an appeal to the government of Russia requesting to ban cryptocurrency mining on the territory of the republic due to the load on the power grid. The Russian government introduced a complete ban on mining from 2025 until March 15, 2031, including in Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, and Chechnya.
