The arrest of those involved in the case against the brother of the head of Ingushetia has been extended.

A court in Cherkessk extended the preventive measure for 29 defendants in the case of embezzlement of funds from the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation until April 30, one of whom is Magomed-Bashir Kalimatov.

As "Caucasian Knot" reported, in mid-June, a court in Cherkessk sentenced Danima Ugurchieva, head of the post office in Ekazhevo, to 4.5 years in prison in the case of the head's brother Ingushetia, finding her guilty of eight counts of fraud and participation in a criminal organization. Earlier, a court in Cherkessk sentenced Rodimkhan Kartoeva, head of the post office in the village of Inarki. Last December, a criminal case involving Magomed-Bashir Kalimatov was submitted to the Cherkessk City Court for consideration.

The Cherkessk City Court extended the pretrial detention of those involved in the criminal case of embezzlement of funds from the Russian Pension Fund, including Magomed-Bashir Kalimatov, the former head of the Federal Postal Service, TASS reported on January 23.

According to the agency's sources, the pretrial detention of all 29 defendants has been extended until April 30. One of the defendants was reassigned from her house arrest in Moscow to Ingushetia. Three defendants were placed under house arrest, while the remaining 26 were remanded in custody. "Caucasian Knot" also reported that the Ingush FSB department reported numerous cases of illegal pension processing totaling over 2 billion rubles in February 2023. Charges were brought against 34 people in the Pension Fund embezzlement case, including former officials and employees of the Russian Post Pension Fund. According to investigators, the criminal organization, which operated from 2019 to 2021, was created by Islam Seinaroyev, head of the Pension Fund in Ingushetia, and Kambulat Sukiyev, head of the Ingush branch of Russian Post.
