Armenian Fund reports payments to 1111 families of combatants in Nagorno-Karabakh

The Military Insurance Fund have paid compensations to 1527 military families, of which 1111 were families of the combatants who took part in the last autumn escalation of the Karabakh conflict.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that each family of the military serviceman, who perished or became disabled in the battles in Nagorno-Karabakh, will receive, within 20 years, from 58 to 82 million drams (from USD 120,000 to 160,000), the head of the Armenian Military Insurance Fund has promised. On January 22, the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh increased the amount of donation to the fund, and also reduced the waiting period for recognizing a person as missing.

In the coming days, other 822 military families will receive compensations. Of these, 43 are families of the militaries, who are likely to be recognized as disabled, and 779 are the families of missing military servicemen, the "News-Armenia" has reported.

In Stepanakert, about 2320 people have applied to the centre for receiving applications from residents about missing participants of the Karabakh conflict. They are being searched by Russian peacemakers together with the staff of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), as well as by the Armenian and Azerbaijani parties, says the website of the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD).
