Human rights defenders urge to involve UN in investigation into executions in Chechnya

The Russian authorities avoid examining the evidence of extrajudicial killings in Chechnya, states the Human Rights Centre (HRC) “Memorial”*. Assistant coordinator of Navalny's Makhachkala office released

Law enforcers would not allow Murad Manapov, the detained employee of the Navalny's office in Makhachkala, to contact his family and an advocate, and forced him, under pressure, to sign the protocol, the activist said after his release. Manapov intends to appeal against his detention and arrest.

Lawyers call on Azeri President to release Eldar Gasanov

Eldar Gasanov, a detained former Azerbaijani ambassador to Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, needs serious treatment because his health condition threatens his life, his advocates have stated. Setting barriers triggers protest of opponents of Namakhvan HPP construction

Opponents of the construction of the Namakhvani hydroelectric power plant (HPP) have gathered for a protest action on the road to the village of Namakhvani, where law enforcers had installed metal barriers to prevent them from marching further. Six people were detained at night after opponents' clashes with policemen, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has informed.

The peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as other documents signed at the meeting with Trump on August 8, 2025

The “Caucasian Knot" publishes the agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which was initialed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on August 8, 2025, through the mediation of US President Donald Trump. The meeting of Trump, Aliyev and Pashinyan took place on August 8 in Washington. Following the meeting, Pashinyan and Aliyev also signed a joint declaration.
