Death of editor-in-chief of "Tolyshi Sado" will strike the image of Azerbaijani authorities, local human rights activists believe
Today, Novruzali Mamedov, head of the Talysh Cultural Centre and editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Tolyshi Sado" (Voice of Talysh), who died yesterday in the prison hospital, was buried in his native village of Archivan, Astarin District, in the south of Azerbaijan. Human rights activists believe that Mamedov's death will strike the image of Azerbaijani authorities.

PACE officials: Azerbaijani authorities failed to listen to appeals to release Novruzali Mamedov
Andres Herkel (Estonia) and Evgenia Zhivkova (Bulgaria), co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the PACE (Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe) for Azerbaijan, are depressed with the fact of the failure of Azerbaijani authorities of Azerbaijan to listen to the appeals to release Novruzali Mamedov, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Tolyshi Sado", who died on August 17. They have also expressed their regret for the loss of Mr Mamedov's scientific heritage.

In Volgograd Region, attackers on Gipsy camp sentenced to 4.5-11 years of imprisonment
