Abakarov: detentions in Dagestan were caused by plans to hold rallies against Caucasophobia in Moscow
It is planned to use Moscow as the venue of the all-Russian rally against Caucasophobia; however, its date has not been defined yet, said Abakar Abakarov, a member of the Supreme Council of the Russian Congress of Caucasian Nations. According to his story, the detentions conducted on December 9 in Makhachkala were directly connected with the plans to hold the rally in Moscow.

In Dagestan, protesters against building water intake demand to release detainees
The village of Samur, Magaramkent District of Dagestan, hosted an unauthorized protest against the construction of a water intake station on the Samur River. After a scuffle with the police, 19 protesters were taken to the local police station. Other participants refused to disperse until the police released the detainees.

Medal "Hurry to Do Good" given to parents of Makhachkala resident, who died while rescuing two girls in Zvenigorod
On December 9, the House of Russians Abroad named after Solzhenitsyn in Moscow hosted the awarding ceremony of the medal of the Russian Ombudsman "Hurry to Do Good".
