Belorechensk resident recognized as political prisoner
Human rights defenders have recognized Yaroslav Sukhanov from Belorechensk, sentenced to 6.5 years of imprisonment for preparing to commit high treason, as a political prisoner. The human rights defenders pointed out that the confession which Yaroslav Sukhanov retracted in court could be obtained under pressure.

Elena Patyaeva, who was detained by law enforcers in Saint Petersburg during her solo picket demanding an inquiry into the disappearance of her friend, Seda Suleimanova, in Chechnya, has been left at the police station until the court hearing. Relatives report details of new case against Yapov, surrendered member of Chechen underground
Relatives are concerned about the health state of Khamid Yapov. The man served two terms of imprisonment for involvement in Chechen armed underground, but was arrested for the third time in December 2024. A human rights organization employee believes that the recent case against Khamid Yapov is part of a systemic problem of persecuting militants who surrendered in the hope of amnesty.

Defence challenges court’s decision to arrest Magomedov
