Resident of the Rostov region convicted of treason

The Southern District Military Court sentenced resident of the Rostov region Alexander Kubrakov to 16 years in prison under the article on treason for transferring data about the armed forces of Russia to the Ukrainian side.

According to the court, Kubrakov joined a terrorist organization through messaging correspondence and transmitted the coordinates of military facilities in the Rostov region to the opposing side. The 29-year-old man was detained by border guard officers.

A criminal case was initiated against him under the articles of treason and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization, TASS reports citing the FSB of the Rostov region.

The Southern District Military Court found Alexander Kubrakov guilty of the charges. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison, with the first three years to be served in a penal colony.

Kubrakov was born on April 7, 1997, in the city of Donetsk, Rostov region, according to the registry of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring. According to a bot that tracks updates in this list, Kubrakov's data with a note of involvement in terrorism was added there on March 26, 2026.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the Rostov Regional Court sentenced a local resident to 20 years in prison to be served in a strict regime colony for planning a sabotage at a transport infrastructure facility on behalf of the Ukrainian special services. Earlier, the FSB reported the detention of an 18-year-old resident of Taganrog, who was planning a terrorist act against Russian military personnel.
