Vladimir Atamanchuk was released from the detention center after three days of arrest.

Former candidate from the "Apple" party, Vladimir Atamanchuk, was detained by law enforcement on September 20 at the exit of the district electoral commission; he was arrested for three days on charges of petty hooliganism and illegal campaigning. After three days, Atamanchuk was released from the detention center.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on September 11, the Krasnodar Regional Court canceled the registration of Vladimir Atamanchuk as a candidate for the State Duma from the South single-member district No. 54. The basis was an election material that the plaintiff considered extremist. On September 20, law enforcement visited Atamanchuk's garden plot; he suspected that they planned to detain him.

On September 23, Vladimir Atamanchuk was released from the investigative isolation facility in Matsesta, where he spent three days. He himself told this to a correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".

According to him, on September 20, when leaving the district electoral commission, where he tried to find out on what grounds he was removed from the ballot, since the decision of the regional court had not yet come into force, instead of explanations, he was arrested. "They fabricated two administrative cases against me: for petty hooliganism and illegal campaigning," Atamanchuk said.

According to him, he was not given decisions on the administrative articles. "Before the arrest, I managed to find out in the district commission that the decision to remove me from the elections was made by them based on the decision of the regional court from September 11. However, I could not find out on what grounds a decision of the court that had not come into force became a reason for my removal from the elections. No one from the district commission staff answered this question," the politician said.

He linked his arrest to the support of the pacifist course of the party. "What is happening to me and to other citizens who want democratic changes in their country speaks eloquently that power in the Russian Federation does not belong to the people," Atamanchuk added.

He intends to obtain the court decisions based on which he was sent to the temporary detention facility for three days, and then find out where his appeal is and why the Electoral Commission removed his candidacy from the elections, although the court's decision on the removal had not come into force and an appeal had been submitted.
