Former deputies of the Parliament of South Ossetia David Sanakoev, Garry Muldarov, and Dzambolat Medoev were allowed to enter Russia after a ban was imposed in 2024 due to their work on a bill regarding the border with Georgia, sources reported.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on May 14, 2024, analysts interviewed by the publication linked the deprivation of Russian citizenship and the entry ban for the deputies of the Parliament of South Ossetia David Sanakoev, Garry Muldarov, and Dzambolat Medoev to their work on the bill regarding the border with Georgia.

On September 20, it was reported by Ossetian Telegram channels "Ossetia" and "Bonvarnon" that former deputies were allowed to enter Russia.

Sources confirmed to the correspondent of "Caucasian Knot" the accuracy of this information. According to them, Sanakoev, Muldarov, and Medoev learned about the entry permit three days ago. The former deputies themselves declined to comment to the correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".

Recall that on March 22, 2024, it became known that the FSB sent Sanakoev, Muldarov, and Medoev conclusions about the termination of their Russian citizenship. In the documents, the actions of the deputies were characterized as leading to "increased tension and exacerbation of the military-political situation, including near the state border of the Russian Federation" and creating a "threat to the national security" of Russia. Alan Gagloev called the deputies' activity on demarcating the border with Georgia untimely and accused them of provoking an armed conflict. All three reported that they are challenging the FSB's conclusions in court.

On March 29, 2024, it became known that the then-serving deputies Sanakoev, Muldarov, and Medoev were banned from entering Russia. Sanakoev stated that they were not explained the reasons for the ban and called the decision political persecution that restricts their right to judicial protection.
