The authorities' report on road works caused skepticism among the residents of Makhachkala.

The administration of Makhachkala reported on its website that specialists from the Traffic Organization Center conducted preparations for asphalting on the streets of Heroes of Dagestan, Gagarin, Askerkhanov, and Abdulhakim Ismailov, as well as at the intersection of Gagarin and Tatama Muradov streets.

On September 18, the Instagram public hello_makhachkala, which has about 199 thousand followers, published a post about the road works in Makhachkala. As of 19:45 MSK on September 19, this post received 104 likes and 53 comments.

Commenters, identifying themselves as residents of Makhachkala, pointed out the poor quality of the work done. "If this were in Moscow, they would have removed the surface. They would have laid it anew," wrote user isr_005.

Other residents complained about the poor condition of roads in various parts of Makhachkala. "Check the secondary roads on Gamidov; they are all in holes! The city center," urged milashka_05_888.

"The Kamaev street from the entrance to the city, pay attention. The road is in terrible condition," wrote magomedow_100.

"On Akushinka, there are holes right in the middle of the road; I almost lost a wheel. On Bulacha, it's not a road, it's Dakar rally. From Shamil, starting where 'Paramax' is to the trolleybus stop, there are big gaps like roller coasters, and there are many such places," pointed out murad_27_rmm.
