Demonstrators in Tbilisi and Batumi condemned the pro-Russian policy of the "Georgian Dream".

Residents of Tbilisi and Batumi demanded a change in Georgia's political course and the release of political prisoners on the 659th day of continuous protests.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on September 16, activists in Tbilisi went to the parliament for the 658th consecutive day with the unchanged demand for the release of prisoners of conscience. The opposition announced a large march on September 27 in connection with the Day of Protection of Sukhumi.

Supporters of Georgia's Euro-integration gathered today near the parliament and city council building in Tbilisi for the 659th evening in a row. They demand the release of all arrested in connection with the protests and the repeal of repressive laws, as well as a return to the Euro-Atlantic course and free elections, reports Publika.

Activists at the parliament held placards saying “Do not yield”, “Freedom for Georgia from Russophiles”, “Destroyers of the country, leave!” and “Collapse of the regime”, according to photos published by photographer Georgy Mosiashvili (Mo Se).

On Rustaveli Avenue near the parliament building, where repairs are ongoing, an iron fence has been installed. It is located right between the sidewalk and the roadway, reports TV Pirveli. “Dictators have surrounded us with a fence. If we have self-respect, we must gather and destroy it,” wrote activist Lasha Kacia on social media.

In a video published by Mtavari, a participant in the gathering in Tbilisi calls on citizens to join the march on September 27. “At 19:00 we will gather at the Tbilisi State University building, from where we will march to Heroes Square and read the names of our heroes who fell in the war in Abkhazia,” he says.

In Batumi, where daily protests take place near the building of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, activists held placards saying “Antsukhilidze is immortal”, “Russia is an occupier” and “Freedom for the regime's prisoners”, according to photos from Batumelebi.

Protest participants in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024. Law enforcement has conducted harsh dispersals of protests, using tear gas and water cannons, and detained protesters. During the protests, thousands of people have faced administrative prosecution.
