A resident of Temryuk received a sentence for financing terrorism.

The military court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a resident of Kuban to a long term, who was caught by the FSB in money transfers to a certain terrorist organization.

The accused resident of Temryuk is 55 years old, and his case was investigated by the Kuban FSB. The article on financing the activities of a terrorist organization (part 1.1 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code), under which he was sentenced, provides for imprisonment from eight to fifteen years.

According to the prosecution's version, the man transferred funds to a certain electronic account from April to June 2024. This account, according to security officials, was used to collect funds in the interests of the terrorist organization that the accused consciously wanted to support - before the transfers, he searched online for information on how to do this.

"In total, he made seven transfers of 300 rubles from his bank account," the Krasnodar regional prosecutor's office said in a statement.

The man was sentenced to nine years in prison, with the first four years to be served in prison, and the remainder of the term in a strict regime correctional colony. The court also confiscated and transferred to state ownership his mobile phone from which the transfers were made.

The prosecutor's office did not specify whether the resident of Temryuk agreed with the charges. The agency does not specify the mentioned terrorist organization, does not indicate the motive of the accused, and does not name the platform for the money transfers.

According to the open registry of the Southern District Military Court, the last sentence under the article on financing a terrorist organization was issued on September 15. The name of the accused is hidden in the case file. The "Caucasian Knot" currently does not have comments from the accused or his lawyer regarding the sentence and plans for appeal.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the military court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Evgeny Kalganov, a native of Novorossiysk, to 16 years in prison, finding him guilty of financing terrorism and treason. Earlier, the Southern District Military Court sentenced resident of Novorossiysk Evgeny Chernyshov to 22 years in a strict regime for the same articles.
