The Constitutional Court of Armenia approved the agreement on TRIPP

The agreement on the "Trump Route" project has been recognized as compliant with the Constitution of Armenia.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in July, the government of Armenia approved a draft law on the ratification of the agreement on the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP). It was decided to send the document to the Constitutional Court for verification. If the document is approved by the Constitutional Court, the draft law will be sent for ratification to the parliament.

The Constitutional Court of Armenia recognized the agreement on TRIPP as compliant with the Constitution, News.am reports today, citing an employee of the external relations department of the Constitutional Court.

According to the court representative, the full text of the decision will be published in the coming days, after which the document will be sent to the parliament for ratification.

The Constitutional Court began reviewing the TRIPP agreement yesterday, September 15. The court was to determine whether the obligations undertaken by Armenia under the agreement comply with the Constitution, as noted in the publication.

Recall that on May 26, 2026, in Yerevan, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan signed a Charter on Strategic Partnership, expanding U.S.-Armenian cooperation and supporting the TRIPP project. The visit to Yerevan was accompanied by the initialing of a framework agreement on the transport corridor and a memorandum of cooperation in the field of critical minerals.

On August 8, 2025, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a declaration on the cessation of hostilities at a meeting in Washington. U.S. President Donald Trump stated that a key issue that hindered the signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan had been resolved, and this issue was the Zangezur corridor.
