Supporters of Eurointegration have been protesting in Tbilisi and Batumi for 656 days.

Demonstrators in Tbilisi and Batumi on the 656th day of protests demanded the release of prisoners of conscience and a rejection of the pro-Russian political course.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", participants of the continuous protests in Georgia announced on September 12 that they had formed a united force for change. If the opposition does not join them, it will be perceived as acting in the interests of the authorities, the participants of the march in Tbilisi indicated. On September 13, demonstrators went out to the buildings of the parliament and city council in Tbilisi for the 655th consecutive day.

Activists with the flags of Georgia and the European Union gathered this evening for the 656th consecutive day in front of the parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue, demanding to return the country to the Euro-Atlantic course and to stop the repressions. Protesters also gathered with similar demands in front of the Tbilisi city council building, reports Publika.

Among the unchanging demands of the protesters are the release of all political prisoners and the holding of free elections. At the gathering in front of the parliament, at least 150 people participated, according to photos by Giorgi Mumladze and videos by Mtavari.

In Batumi, where protesters gather daily in front of the building of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, activists held placards saying “Freedom to the regime's prisoners” and “Russia is an occupier,” according to a publication by Batumelebi.

Since November 28, 2024, participants in the protests in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners. Security forces have conducted harsh dispersals of protests, using tear gas and water cannons, and have detained protesters.
