Five polling stations have been prepared in Russia for the presidential elections of South Ossetia.

Four polling stations for citizens of South Ossetia will open on September 18 in North Ossetia, and another will operate in Moscow.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on September 11, the "Nykhas" party called to support the acting president of South Ossetia Marat Kambolov in the presidential elections, stating that he is capable of ensuring the consolidation of society and sustainable socio-economic development. Kambolov himself stated on September 12 that South Ossetia is not yet ready to open the border with Georgia for transit.

Citizens of South Ossetia in Russia will be able to vote in the early presidential elections of the republic on September 18 at five polling stations in two regions of the country. Four stations will operate in North Ossetia, and one in Moscow.

In Moscow, the polling station will operate from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Moscow time at the Embassy of South Ossetia located at Kursovoy Lane, 9 (near the "Kropotkinskaya" metro station). Those wishing to vote must have their South Ossetian citizen passport with them, the embassy reminded.

Two of the four polling stations in North Ossetia will operate in Vladikavkaz - in the building of school No. 44 on Sardiona Kozonov Street, 1, and in the building of the North Ossetian State Agrarian University on Leo Tolstoy Street, 30. In Alagir, the polling station will be located in the Pagiyev Children's Creativity Center on Alagirskaya Street, 129A.

Another station will operate in the Prigorodny District of North Ossetia - in the Children's Creativity House of the village of Kambileevskoe, (Kuchieva Street, 5), reports IA "Res".

Kambolov's public activity is increasing as the voting approaches. On August 31, analysts noted that the election campaign is effectively being conducted only by Kambolov, while other candidates are "not seen or heard". On September 5, residents of the villages of Orchosan and Tsinagar voiced their problems with gas supply and water quality, roads, agricultural machinery, salary arrears, and transport communication, after which Kambolov instructed to determine solutions and deadlines for their implementation. On September 6, Kambolov reported on the results of two months of work of the public support headquarters.

Georgia considers Abkhazia and South Ossetia to be territories occupied by Russia after Russia intervened in the armed conflict between Georgia and South Ossetia on August 8, 2008, and then recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, according to the "Caucasian Knot" reference on the "Five-Day War" of 2008. Venezuela recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in September 2009.
