Rostov resident Vadim Yuryev suffered serious injuries in 2015 when he fell at the construction site of the "Megamag" shopping center. After 11 years, he achieved monthly payments through the court.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in October 2015, three people were injured when the formwork of the under-construction "Megamag" shopping complex collapsed in Rostov-on-Don.

Rostov resident Vadim Yuryev, who suffered serious injuries during the construction of "Megamag" in 2015, achieved indefinite payments from the shopping center developer after 11 years, Donnews.ru reported on September 13.

In October 2015, Yuryev, along with other workers, was pouring concrete on the third floor of the under-construction shopping complex. The formwork collapsed, and the man fell from a height of five meters. He sustained serious injuries, including the removal of his spleen. He spent about seven months in hospitals.

After the collapse, a criminal case was initiated. An examination revealed insufficient strength of the materials and gross defects in the welded joints of the formwork, but it was not possible to identify a specific person responsible for the safety of the work. The investigation was terminated.

After a few years, Yuryev began to sue the developer. In November of last year, the Lenin District Court of Rostov-on-Don denied him payments, stating that after the injury, the man continued to work, including as a gas-electric welder and miner.

Yuryev appealed the decision, and the Rostov Regional Court appointed a new forensic medical examination, which established that due to the injuries, the man permanently lost 35 percent of his overall work capacity. The court also established that Yuryev's return to work does not exempt the developer from the obligation to compensate for the harm. The decision of the lower instance was completely overturned. The entire lost earnings of the man from March 30, 2019, to March 10, 2025, was recovered from "Megamag". In addition, starting from March 10, 2025, Yuryev was assigned 12,728 rubles and 58 kopecks monthly.
