Residents of Chechnya were outraged by the increase in utility tariffs.

In Chechnya, updated tariffs for utility services come into effect, and from October 1, they will increase by an average of 9.2%. Users of the Chechen public noted that incomes do not grow in proportion to the increase in utility prices.

The cost of electricity for the population has been revised taking into account differentiation by consumer categories. Thus, for urban residents, the single-rate tariff has increased to 4.62 rubles per kWh (previously - 4.15 rubles). For rural residents and urban dwellers whose homes are equipped with electric stoves, the cost will be 3.23 rubles (previously - 2.91 rubles).

The retail price for natural gas will be 7,296.37 rubles per 1000 m³ (previously - 6,883.37 rubles). Changes also affected the solid waste management sector. The tariff for this service has increased to 557.85 rubles per cubic meter. Previously, residents paid 495.06 rubles, reported "Chechnya Today" citing the deputy chair of the State Committee on Prices and Tariffs of the region, Karina Khagieva.

Since the cost of water supply, wastewater disposal, and heating depends on the specific resource supplying organization, rates vary by area. In particular, in Grozny, the following rates are set: cold water - 33.88 rubles per cubic meter (previously - 32.81 rubles), heating - 3,054.47 rubles per Gcal (previously - 2,712.67 rubles), hot water - the tariff is formed from two components - for cold water and for heating.

According to Karina Khagieva, the second, main stage of price indexing has been postponed from July 1 to October 1. The authorities decided to do this to better synchronize utility tariffs with the dynamics of energy prices for legal entities. Previously, the first stage took place on January 1, with a technical increase of 1.7%, which Khagieva assures was directly related to the increase in the VAT rate from 20% to 22%.

"The increase in tariffs is not just a matter of 'we took and raised them', but an attempt to cover the real costs of the utility sector. And yes, inflation does play a role here, but not the only one," clarifies Karina Khagieva.

Social media users pointed out significant financial difficulties in paying the increased tariffs

The public chechnyatoday_95, which has over 699 thousand subscribers, published news about the updated tariffs on Instagram*. By 20:30 Moscow time, the publication had garnered over 500 comments.

"Everything is going according to plan. We are going down," wrote their forecast safi.yaprekrasnaya.

"I think there is nowhere to go. We are already fully submerged," replied way_master95_.

Most commentators noted that the price of utility tariffs is rising faster than salaries and pensions. People cannot pay off debts before the tariffs rise again.

"Where do they want to raise it? It is impossible to keep up with the tariffs every month, and they keep increasing. As soon as people pay off the previous debt, they should better lower the rates for utilities and food products," said za.lina1809.

"Inflation, rising costs, infrastructure wear and tear, and so on. When will salaries be raised? And what reasons should lead to this? For some reason, salaries are not raised for any reasons....", was outraged gektor_78.

"I wonder when salaries will be raised?" asked nohcho__095_095.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that representatives of the Chechen authorities during raids against rising prices exert pressure on retailers, although prices for products are raised by manufacturers and wholesalers. The ban on raising prices is not accompanied by any compensations, complained entrepreneurs from Grozny.
