Residents of Dagestan were convicted of attacking traffic police inspectors.

The Tarumovsky District Court sentenced three residents of Dagestan to terms ranging from 5 to 7 years for the case of attacking traffic police officers and illegal trafficking of weapons and drugs.

According to the court, in September 2024 in the Tarumovsky district of Dagestan, traffic police inspectors attempted to stop a VAZ-2109 vehicle, the driver of which grossly violated traffic rules. However, the man ignored the police's demands and fled in an unknown direction.

Later, during the attempt to detain the violator, the three defendants struck the police officers with their hands and feet. The police officers sustained closed head injuries, concussions, bruises, and contusions. In addition, one of the defendants publicly insulted the police officers with obscene language, the press service of the Supreme Court of Dagestan reported today on its Telegram channel.

The press service added that during subsequent searches at the defendants' residences, more than 150 grams of drugs, a grenade, and 74 live ammunition were seized.

The defendants were charged with using violence not dangerous to life or health against a representative of the authorities by a group of individuals 1 , illegal acquisition, carrying of weapons 2 and illegal storage of narcotic substances 3 .

For the totality of the crimes, the court imposed sentences of imprisonment ranging from 5 to 7 years. The convicted will serve their sentences in a general regime correctional colony. Two of them were additionally fined amounts ranging from 20,000 to 30,000 rubles, respectively.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that a minor resident of Dagestan was suspected of intentionally hitting a police officer while driving a vehicle.
