Regular power outages in Makhachkala have given rise to criticism of officials.

Mass power outages in Makhachkala deprived residents of the ability to work and use communication, while entrepreneurs spoiled their products. Residents demanded that the authorities solve the problem of regular power supply interruptions.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", residents of Dagestan regularly complain about power supply interruptions. Thus, on August 14, residents of Irchi Kazaka Street in Makhachkala went out into the street for the third time in a week due to a prolonged power outage.

On August 25, mass power outages occurred in Makhachkala, reported a correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".

A local resident Tagir said that the power went out in his house on Abdulhakim Ismailov Street at 8:30 AM. When he called the emergency service, he was told that it was a planned outage that would last until 6 PM.

"I work from home as a representative of a Moscow firm, I need electricity and the internet. I was left without work for the whole day, and the mobile connection was intermittent," Tagir told a correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".

A Makhachkala resident Khadijat also complained about the power outage. "The power was cut off in Kazbekova Street in the morning, I couldn't reach anyone. It's stuffy at home, and the food in the refrigerator is spoiling," she told a correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".

A resident of Makhachkala Ahmed noted that on August 24, there was no power on Kammaeva Street from 1 PM to 8 PM. "Today, there have been constant outages since the morning. Can the authorities do nothing about this?" he told a correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".

Local entrepreneurs complained that their products spoiled. "All the products in the freezers and refrigerators melted, who will compensate me for the damage? I have a small shop, I feed my whole family. The power is cut off almost every day," said the owner of the shop Amina to a correspondent of "Caucasian Knot".

Complaints about power outages are published daily by Dagestani public pages on social networks and messengers.

"Every day in Kaspiysk, electricity is cut off in houses 4 and 4a on Molodyozhnaya Street. People in the 17-story building sit without light and water for half the day. Yesterday, the power was cut off 3 times, practically all day. Today, the same thing again! And this has been happening all August," complained a city resident, whose message was published by the Telegram channel "Ask Rasul".

"The question arises: do supervisory and law enforcement agencies not notice that power outages in the city of Makhachkala are not emergency outages, but planned ones, meaning that electricity is cut off in entire neighborhoods to reduce the load on outdated networks that are not being modernized?

In summer, the load comes from air conditioners. In winter, it will come from heaters. And this has been going on for years! The central apparatus of the FSB of Russia, the central apparatus of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, please check this area. The people of the republic will be grateful!" wrote a reader of the Telegram channel of the newspaper "Chernovik".

Another user noted that neither mobile internet nor communication works properly in Makhachkala.

"The power is often cut off. It is sometimes impossible to reach from one point in the city to another. And why are these restrictions needed specifically in Makhachkala, if due to power outages people already regularly face problems with communication and the internet?" he asked.

The commentator noted that he works as a programmer in one of the large companies in Russia and lives in Makhachkala. His work completely depends on stable internet and electricity. "In the current conditions, I regularly lose connection with the team, cannot properly connect to work services, and am effectively deprived of the opportunity to work remotely from my hometown," the user noted.

He demanded that the authorities of Dagestan solve the problem of regular power outages.
