The authorities' report on the decrease in gasoline prices has drawn criticism from the residents of Dagestan.

At Dagestan gas stations, the price of gasoline reaches 125 rubles per liter, which is even higher than it was before the fuel crisis, residents of the republic noted on social media, commenting on the report from "Dagtoviva" about the decrease in fuel prices.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 2, the "Dagtoviva" association announced a decrease in exchange prices for petroleum products and the stabilization of fuel supplies to Dagestan. According to the association, many independent gas station owners purchased significant volumes of fuel at high prices and will be able to lower its cost after selling their stocks.

The report from "Dagtoviva" about the decrease in prices was shared on August 8 by the Instagram*-public dagestan_like, which has about 92.7 thousand followers. As of 09:55 MSK on August 9, the post had received 163 likes and 70 comments.

Residents of the republic stated that they did not notice a significant decrease in fuel prices. muminat_abdulaevna reported buying gasoline for 103 rubles per liter.

"It was 75, now it's over 100. How is that a decrease?" – wrote user autokovriki.ru.

The price of gasoline at some gas stations ranges from 110 to 125 rubles per liter, commenters noted.

"Shamilkala, AI-95 – 125 rubles," wrote rolly_samurai_shamilkala.

"Yesterday on the highway in Manas VNK, the 95th – 110 rubles," reported sss777fss.

kari_nadubai mentioned a decrease in the price of AI-92 gasoline from 105 rubles.

"The 92nd at VNK has become 105 rubles since yesterday. Good job to the people for starting to talk about this on social media and writing complaints. I wrote a complaint to the FAS and the presidential administration yesterday," she wrote.

Some users pointed out that a slight decrease in fuel prices occurred after a sharp increase.

"They raised it by 100%, but lowered it by 5%," noted shaiikhmagomed25.

"What Dagestan are they living in? Ours only fell by ten rubles, and only the 95th," wrote gm_0001.

alimmextiev demanded to return gasoline prices to pre-crisis levels.

"Let them lower the prices back to what they were before – 75 rubles," he stated.

Other commenters noted the price of gas and the quality of automotive fuel.

"Everything is clear with gasoline, but why raise the price of gas? Gas has always been cheaper in Dagestan. Now we have the most expensive gas in the republic," pointed out makhmudov30.

"The main thing is that the quality of the fuel is good, not just the price," noted ars_lan9000.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that against the backdrop of drone attacks on oil refineries, including those located in southern Russia, a fuel crisis has arisen. The gasoline shortage caused a sharp increase in demand for the installation of gas equipment (GBO). Customer queues at service stations stretched for several months, and the cost of equipment nearly doubled.

Long waiting times force motorists to turn to "gray" installers who do not guarantee the safety of the equipment, analysts noted earlier.

At the same time, the mass installation of GBO will not help overcome the fuel crisis due to the lack of necessary infrastructure, they believe.

Creating such infrastructure in a short time is impossible, said Alexander Frolov, deputy director general of the National Energy Institute. According to him, the current crisis has prompted a reminder of existing programs that are developing more slowly than planned.

Leading analyst of the National Energy Security Fund Igor Yushkov suggested that the mass transition of drivers to gas will not become a long-term trend. After the gasoline issue is resolved and the queues at gas stations disappear, the excitement around the installation of GBO will decline, he believes.
