Less than a third of those affected by the flooding received payments in Dagestan

The authorities of Dagestan reported on payments to 80 thousand residents of the republic who were recognized as victims of the flooding. The total amount of payments reached 2.9 billion rubles.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations as of May 22, 274 thousand applications were received from victims in Dagestan. By July 31, more than 78 thousand victims of the floods in Dagestan received payments, for which 2.8 billion rubles were allocated, the government of the republic reported.

Updated data on payments to residents of Dagestan affected by the flooding in spring 2026 were announced today at a meeting of the government commission led by the Prime Minister of Dagestan, Magomed Ramazanov.

Payments totaling 2.9 billion rubles were received by 80 thousand residents of Dagestan. This is 29.19% of the total number of applicants, calculated "Caucasian Knot".

“The acceptance of applications for social payments for damaged and lost housing continues, over 2.5 thousand applications have been submitted,” the press service of the government stated.

At the meeting, it was stated that 58 educational institutions have already been restored at the expense of the Dagestan budget. Repairs are still ongoing at several dozen facilities.

By the end of the year, the authorities also plan to carry out major repairs on three hydraulic structures and restore the capacity of riverbeds - including the Akhtash River within the boundaries of the settlements of Kadyrotar, Adilyotar, Tutlar, Tsiyab-Tsilitli, and Shagada in the Khasavyurt district. Residents of these villages suffered significant damage as a result of the flooding.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in early July, residents of the village of Adilyotar in the Khasavyurt district recorded a video appeal to Putin asking him to take personal control of the situation with payments and the transfer of housing certificates to those affected by the spring flooding in Dagestan.

Floods caused by heavy rains began in the North Caucasus at the end of March and became one of the most destructive in recent years.
