Electricity supply has been restored in half of the homes that were left without power after the bad weather in the Don region.

Half of the homes that were left without power after the bad weather in the Rostov region have had electricity restored, and water supply has also been restored in a number of areas.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in 15 cities and districts of the Rostov region, problems with electricity supply arose after heavy rains and gusty winds, and in a number of areas, there were also issues with water supply. Local residents complained that during the hurricane, police, rescue services, gas, and utility services were unavailable, and in some cases, specialists did not arrive for several hours. In the afternoon of July 26, residents of Rostov commented in the Telegram channel of the head of Rostov-on-Don, Alexander Skryabin, calling for him to restore electricity supply more quickly.

Electricity supply has been restored in the homes of half of the residents of the Rostov region who lost power due to the bad weather, the region's governor Yuri Slyusar reported today in his Telegram channel.

He also noted that more than 70% of the damaged lines and substations have been restored. The situation is complicated by the fact that power lines are damaged by fallen trees, which first need to be cut and removed.

More than 20 transformer substations and about 40 high-voltage lines remain without power, as well as 260 low-voltage lines and more than two thousand low-voltage transformer substations, with 200 power supply poles having fallen.

Slyusar also noted that power supply restrictions have affected more than 60 socially significant facilities across the region, but all of them are connected to backup power sources.

Water supply has been restored in Novoshakhtinsk, Gukovo, Krasny Sulin, Tselinsky, and Veselovsky districts, as well as at boiler houses in Rostov-on-Don. Water supply restrictions due to problems with electricity supply are partially in effect in the Azov district, Aksai, Semikarakorsky, and Oktyabrsky districts, in Shakhty (partially) and Azov, as well as in the village of Zadonye.

A municipal emergency regime has been additionally introduced in the Azov district, remains in effect in Rostov-on-Don, Volgodonsk, and Chertkovsky districts, and a state of heightened readiness remains in four municipalities.

It is also worth noting that during the hurricane in Rostov-on-Don, one person died and another 13 were injured. Later, authorities reported that 51 injured individuals sought medical assistance.
