In North Ossetia, the sale of fuel to residents of other regions has been restricted.

Residents of North Ossetia can refuel up to 40 liters of gasoline, while residents of other regions can refuel up to 20 liters, said the authorities of North Ossetia, assuring that the initiative is aimed at reducing the excitement and queues. More than a quarter of gas stations in the republic have no fuel of any kind.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", residents of Vladikavkaz and Mozdok reported that fuel prices at some private network gas stations in North Ossetia have slightly decreased, however, the shortage of gasoline and queues at federal gas stations persist. According to drivers, the increase in fuel costs forces them to save on other items in the family budget.

Authorities announced a reduction in fuel sales to residents of other regions

In North Ossetia, to reduce queues, decrease excitement, and prevent fuel resale, a regional loyalty program "Your Region" has been approved, and daily limits on gasoline dispensing have been temporarily introduced, reported Alexander Khoruzhiy, chairman of the RSO-Alania Committee for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations.

"Due to the fact that fuel prices in North Ossetia are lower than in other regions, and people come to us to refuel from neighboring republics, queues and excitement are created at gas stations. Now priority is given to local residents.
Vehicles with license plates from the 15th region and South Ossetia can refuel up to 40 liters. Vehicles with license plates from other regions and foreign countries can refuel up to 20 liters. The restrictions do not apply to diesel fuel," his words are quoted in the Telegram channel of the government of North Ossetia.

He added that residents of the republic whose cars are registered in other regions must present a document confirming residence or birth in the region to receive the limit of up to 40 liters at the gas station.

"These rules are being introduced temporarily – until the situation stabilizes. Their main task is to ensure fuel for residents of all districts of the republic and to make distribution as even as possible," the official explained.

In North Ossetia, more than a quarter of gas stations have no fuel

According to information on the "Gas Stations of North Ossetia" website, which is maintained by the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the republic based on data received from gas stations, out of 30 gas stations in Vladikavkaz, seven have no fuel, including "Lukoil" and "Sarmata" gas stations, only diesel fuel is available at five, and AI-95 is sold at 15 gas stations.

In the Alagir district, out of seven gas stations, two are operational, with AI-95 and diesel fuel available. In the Right Bank district, out of six gas stations, one is closed, three have only diesel fuel, and AI-95 is dispensed at two gas stations. In the Prigorodny district, five out of seven gas stations are operational. In the Mozdok district, four gas stations are operational, two of which have only diesel fuel. In the Iraf district, two gas stations have only AI-100 unavailable. In the Kirov district, three gas stations are operational, one is closed, and two have AI-95 and diesel fuel. In the Ardon district, the two operational gas stations have only diesel fuel.

Thus, the list provides information on 61 gas stations, on July 12, the website contained information about 76 gas stations.

Out of 61 gas stations for which data is provided, there is no fuel at 17 gas stations, meaning that more than 27% of gas stations are closed.

Earlier, the authorities of North Ossetia reported that the republic has enough fuel reserves to fully meet the demand for it. Local residents, commenting on this report from the authorities on social media, demanded that instead of demonstrating numbers, they ensure the availability of gasoline at gas stations. They also complained about the increase in fuel prices.

Recall that on July 15, residents of North Ossetia reported that they continue to face a shortage of gasoline at major network gas stations. Some drivers spend several hours in queues to refuel at federal network gas stations, while others prefer to buy more expensive fuel at private gas stations, where there are almost no queues.

The cost of gasoline at commercial gas stations is in some cases almost twice as high, motorists noted. In their opinion, the introduction of a system for refueling on even and odd days could reduce queues.
