Supporters of Georgia's Eurointegration demanded change at rallies in Tbilisi and Batumi.

Protests against the policy of the "Georgian Dream" and demanding the release of political prisoners took place in Tbilisi and Batumi on the 599th day of daily protests.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", a march demanding Georgia's Eurointegration and the release of political prisoners took place on July 18 in Tbilisi, despite heavy rain. Participants of the march expressed support for Ukraine.

Today, on the 599th day of daily protests, protesters gathered near the building of the Parliament of Georgia, reports Publika.

According to photos published on the Facebook page of photographer Giorgi Mosiashvili (Mo Se), the event took place in a calm atmosphere. Participants held flags of Georgia, the USA, the European Union, and handwritten posters.

This morning, the parents of prisoners convicted for participating in protest actions headed to Batumi; the train was delayed due to the banners they were carrying.

"The train has parents of prisoners on board, they are going to Batumi. A scandal broke out because of the banners, and the police arrived. The train was supposed to leave five minutes ago but hasn't departed yet," journalist Mariam Nikuradze reported on her Facebook page.

In the evening, she published a photo from Batumi, where several dozen people came out for a protest.

Since November 28, 2024, participants in protests in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners. Law enforcement has conducted harsh crackdowns on protests, using tear gas and water cannons, and detaining protesters. Thousands of people have faced administrative prosecution during the protests.
