Two residents of the Rostov region have been found guilty of treason.

Residents of the Rostov region have been sentenced to 16 and 18 years for committing arson of a transport infrastructure facility.

According to the investigation, for the arson of the transport infrastructure facility, the convicted received monetary rewards from a representative of a foreign state.

Both have been found guilty of treason, committing sabotage, and legalizing criminal proceeds (Article 275, paragraphs "a" and "b" of part 2 of Article 281 and paragraph "a" of part 3 of Article 174.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), writes "Kommersant" on July 13.

The defendants in the case have been sentenced to 16 and 18 years of imprisonment, restriction of freedom, and fines. One will spend the first two years of the sentence in prison, the other - the first three years. The remaining parts of their sentences will be served in a strict regime colony.

Earlier, "Caucasian Knot" reported that in early July, a resident of the Rostov region was sentenced to 12 years in prison for transferring money to Ukrainian military personnel.
