The court in Nalchik fined local resident Yana Keshtova, acknowledging that the video she published in the messenger discredited the Russian military.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on March 4, 2022, responsibility for discrediting the armed forces was introduced, since then residents of Russia, including Kabardino-Balkaria, have been prosecuted under the relevant article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation. It provides for fines for citizens from 30,000 to 100,000 rubles, and repeated violations within a year threaten criminal prosecution.

According to the case materials, Nalchik resident Yana Keshtova recorded a video expressing her disagreement with the actions of the Russian military and sent this video via messenger.

The content of the video became known to the security forces, who compiled a report against Keshtova for discrediting the army and sent it to court.

At the trial, the Nalchik resident admitted her guilt and expressed remorse. The Nalchik City Court found her guilty of discrediting the army and fined her 31,000 rubles, as reported in the case card published on the court's website.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that earlier the court in the Prokhladnensky district fined local resident Islam Abazov, finding him guilty of discrediting the army.
