A million-subscriber blogger was convicted in Ingushetia for storing a grenade.

The Malgobek City Court in Ingushetia sentenced 30-year-old Muhammad Marziev to six years in a penal colony for the illegal acquisition and storage of an explosive device.

According to the court, on January 25, 2026, Marziev discovered and picked up a plastic bag containing a hand grenade from the ground in the basement of a house on one of the streets of Malgobek.

He later moved the hand grenade to his home and hid it in the closet of the bedroom until it was discovered and seized by police officers on February 6, 2026, during operational-search activities, the press service of the courts of Ingushetia reported on its Telegram channel.

During the court session, Marziev admitted his guilt. He refused to testify, citing Article 51 of the Constitution of Russia.

The court found Marziev guilty of the illegal acquisition and storage of an explosive device 1 and sentenced him to six years of imprisonment with a fine of 20,000 rubles. The convicted person will serve his sentence in a general regime correctional colony.

According to the case card on the court's website, Marziev's case was submitted for consideration on March 27, 2026, and the verdict was delivered on June 9 by Judge Tsetsoyeva with the participation of lawyer Bogatyrev.

According to law enforcement agencies, this concerns the million-subscriber blogger Muhammad Marziev, who was engaged in organizing fundraising for various purposes through social networks, Interfax clarifies.

On February 10, the Telegram channel "Fortanga" reported the detention in Ingushetia of the well-known religious-themed blogger and public figure Muhammad Marziev.

"FSB officers participated in the special operation to detain him on the morning of February 6. Marziev is a suspect in the case of grenade storage. Muhammad gave confessions in this case, but this could have been done under pressure. The Malgobek City Court sent him to a pre-trial detention center for two months," the Telegram channel reported, citing an unnamed source.

It is noteworthy that more than one million people are subscribed to Muhammad Marziev's Instagram page. He organized fundraising for the construction of mosques in Karabulak and the rural settlement of Achaluki, as well as a school for hafiz in the Malgobek district.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in July 2025, blogger Ruslan Dolgiyev from Ingushetia stated that he was detained for more than a day after a checkpoint officer in North Ossetia used force.
