Security forces questioned a candidate for parliament from the Prosperous Armenia party after a search.

This morning, officers from the Investigative Committee of Armenia searched the apartment of Aregnaz Manukyan, a former member of parliament of the Armenia bloc and a candidate for parliament from the Prosperous Armenia Party. She was questioned by the Investigative Committee in connection with the espionage and treason case, which also previously led to the arrest of Andranik Tevanyan, head of the Mother Armenia party and a candidate for parliament from Prosperous Armenia.

As reported by the Caucasian Knot, on May 22, NSS officers searched the office of the Mother Armenia party and the apartment of its leader, Andranik Tevanyan, who is second on the Prosperous Armenia Party's list of candidates. Tevanyan has been charged with treason and espionage. The court remanded him in custody for two months, allowing him to participate in the electoral processes through representatives.

Employees of the Investigative Committee of Armenia conducted a search this morning in the apartment of former member of the Armenia bloc and candidate for parliament from the Prosperous Armenia party Aregnaz Manukyan, the department reported to Armenia Today.

The Investigative Committee noted that the investigative actions are being carried out as part of a criminal case on espionage and treason, in which the head of the Mother Armenia party and candidate for parliament from Prosperous Armenia Andranik was previously arrested Tevanyan.

Prosperous Armenia member Sona Aghekyan reported on her Facebook page* that after the searches, Manukyan was summoned to the Investigative Committee for questioning, after which she was released.

Manukyan broadcast live on her Facebook page* as security forces arrived to conduct the search.

She demanded to see the court decision before breaking into her home, blogger Mika Badalyan reported.

The Civil Contract Party, led by current Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, won the country's parliamentary elections, garnering 49.81% of the vote. The victory of Pashinyan's party in the parliamentary elections presented the Kremlin as the losing party, Russian political scientists interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" noted.

The opposition parties Prosperous Armenia and Wings of Unity, as well as the Armenia bloc, demanded that the election commission recount the votes at 555 polling stations, and Strong Armenia demanded that the results at one of the polling stations be annulled. As a result of the recount, 140 votes were added to Prosperous Armenia's result. On June 11, the voting results at two polling stations in Armenia were annulled by decision of the Central Election Commission. As a result, Prosperous Armenia lost 213 votes.
