A man died at a synthetic fiber plant in Volzhsky, and a woman was seriously injured. Another person was injured when UAV debris fell on a residential building in Volgograd.

As reported by "Kavkazsky uzel," a drone damaged an apartment building in Volgograd, Volgograd Region Governor Andrei Bocharov reported. City residents reported multiple explosions.

There are casualties as a result of a drone attack last night, Volgograd Region Governor Andrei Bocharov announced today. "A 60-year-old man died at a synthetic fiber plant in Volzhsky, and a 55-year-old woman was hospitalized in serious condition. Another victim, in a house on Vershinina Street, was treated at the scene and did not require hospitalization," he said.

As a result of the drone debris falling, fires were reported overnight at a chemical plant in Volzhsky, fuel and energy facilities in the south of Volgograd, and localized fires. All fires have now been extinguished, according to the governor's statement on the Volgograd Region Administration's Telegram channel.

The Volgograd Administration reported that the drone attack damaged the windows of some buildings at Kindergarten No. 357 in the Krasnooktyabrsky District. "The glass removal work was carried out promptly. The preschool has been operating without changes since this morning, and the rooms with damaged glass have been closed to the public," the administration said on Telegram.

From 10:04 PM on May 28 to 5:54 AM on May 29, a drone alert was in effect in the region, as reported by the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry. A missile alert was also declared from 11:08 PM to 1:15 AM, V1 reports.

Earlier, restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures were introduced at Volgograd Airport. They were in effect from 10:51 PM Moscow time on May 28 to 5:55 AM Moscow time on May 29, according to the Federal Air Transport Agency's Telegram channel.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of 208 UAVs overnight over 13 regions, including the Volgograd region.
