A drone damaged an apartment building in Volgograd, Volgograd Region Governor Andrei Bocharov announced. City residents reported a large number of explosions.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", on April 30, a resident of the Alekseevsky District of the Volgograd Region was hospitalized with a shrapnel wound to the leg as a result of a drone attack.

In the Krasnooktyabrsky District of Volgograd, an apartment building at 32 Vershinina Street was damaged by a drone, reported the head of the region Andrei Bocharov. According to the official, no one was injured in the incident.

"According to preliminary data, the balcony glazing was damaged, but no injuries or fires were reported," Kommersant quotes the governor as saying.

Volgograd residents claim to have heard more than 20 explosions over the city. According to residents, the explosions were heard in the southern and central parts of the regional capital, and flashes were visible in the sky, SHOT reports.

A missile threat was declared in the Volgograd Region as early as 11:08 p.m. Moscow time on May 28, and residents received corresponding alerts from the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry, V1 reported.

Volgograd Airport has been closed to flights since 10:51 p.m. Moscow time on May 28. "The restrictions are necessary to ensure flight safety," Rosaviatsia's Telegram channel reported.
