Two soldiers from Kabardino-Balkaria were killed in Ukraine.

Alexander Drobitko and Viktor Daalov were killed in a military operation in Ukraine. Since its beginning, at least 397 fighters from Kabardino-Balkaria have been officially recognized as killed.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by May 16, authorities and security forces officially recognized at least 395 fighters from Kabardino-Balkaria as killed.

A memorial wall dedicated to soldiers killed in the military operation in Ukraine was unveiled at the Old Square in Prokhladny, the "Defenders of the Fatherland | Kabardino-Balkaria" branch reported on its Telegram channel.

Among the photographs and names on the wall are those of Alexander Drobitko and Viktor Daalov.

Thus, at least 397 soldiers from Kabardino-Balkaria have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation. The "Caucasian Knot" knows the names of 384 of them, and the deaths of another 13 were revealed in a report by the republic's authorities on payments to the families of those killed in 2022.

In early March, the "Defenders of the Fatherland" foundation reported that Valery Pavliy, a native of Baksan, was killed in the SVO zone.

At least 4,529 fighters from the North Caucasus Federal District and 4,624 from the Southern Federal District have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

"Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus Federal District and the Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and law enforcement agencies, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Northern Military District Statistics: Losses Are Mounting for Southern Russia."

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on Channel One do not guarantee state support for the families of those killed, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Three Comrades Served: How Authorities Are Denying Benefits to Families of Killed Volunteers," which describes the stories of the slain soldiers. In particular, the widow of one of the slain soldiers said that without a body, the battalion did not make payments in connection with the death of the soldier.
