Pro-European protests in Tbilisi have continued for 540 days in a row.

Despite heavy rain, protesters in Tbilisi held their daily protest against the Georgian Dream party's policies for the 540th consecutive day.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on May 20, the 539th day of continuous protests, participants on Rustaveli Avenue called on Georgian citizens to rise up against the dictatorship and demanded the release of political prisoners.

Supporters of Georgia's European integration held their traditional protest outside parliament this evening for the 540th time, despite heavy rain. Activists brought national and EU flags to Rustaveli Avenue, some carrying umbrellas in the colors of these flags.

The protesters reiterated the unwavering demand for the release of all political prisoners. The father of activist Zviad Tsetskhladze attended the protest wearing a T-shirt with the slogan "Free Zviad." A poster reading "Women are protesting" was also present, according to posts by photographer Mo Se and Georgian media on Facebook*.

The mother of Levan Khabeishvili, the former chairman of the opposition United National Movement party, who was sentenced today to two and a half years in prison on sabotage charges, said his case "will definitely reach the European Court."

“Be patient, Levan, serve these two years and six months with dignity. Just as you lived your life with dignity in freedom, you will be able to continue to live with dignity after your release,” Marina Kotrikadze told her son live on Pirveli TV.

Parents whose children suffer from Duchenne syndrome have been protesting outside the government chancery for 31 days. Protesters remain outside in the rain, demanding modern medications for children with muscular dystrophy, Publika reports.

Protesters in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024.
