Sochi resident Irina Kostrova was unable to appeal the sentence imposed on her for publishing a Nazi-era propaganda poster on social media.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," in early August 2024, the Sochi Central District Court fined Irina Kostrova 30,000 rubles under the article "discrediting the army." Several posts on social media prompted the fine. On November 26, 2025, a court in Sochi sentenced 54-year-old history teacher Irina Kostrova to one and a half years in a penal colony for the repeated display of prohibited symbols. In January, an appeals court reduced the sentence to one year and four months.

The Fourth Cassation Court of General Jurisdiction rejected Irina Kostrova's appeal, which challenged the verdict and appellate ruling in the case of publishing Nazi paraphernalia online, Utrenny Yug reported on May 17.

The convicted woman maintained her innocence and filed a cassation appeal, but the court found no grounds to overturn or modify the verdict and upheld the ruling. Sochinka will continue to serve his sentence in a penal colony.
