The arrest of the former Minister of Construction of North Ossetia has been extended.

The Leninsky District Court of Vladikavkaz extended the arrest of former North Ossetian Construction Minister Konstantin Morgoev, who is accused of abuse of power, for one month.

As reported by Kavkazsky Knot, in mid-March, the Leninsky District Court of Vladikavkaz remanded in custody former North Ossetian Construction Minister Konstantin Morgoev for two months.

The Leninsky District Court of Vladikavkaz extended the arrest of former North Ossetian Construction Minister Konstantin Morgoev in the case of abuse of office, TASS reported today.

Margoev will remain in custody until June 11.

The former official was detained in a criminal case related to the construction of the Spartak stadium. In 2022, the North Ossetia Capital Construction Department illegally awarded a state contract to a contractor for the reconstruction of a stadium. The initial cost of the work was 458 million rubles, but it subsequently increased to 671 million rubles. The contractor also signed contracts with a subcontractor for the work. The contract deadline was repeatedly extended, and the work was never completed, according to the Krylia TV channel. The "Caucasian Knot" also reported that in April, the North Ossetian Investigative Committee opened criminal cases against former Deputy Prime Minister Larisa Tuganova and her son. They are suspected of accepting a large bribe and acting as an intermediary in bribery.
